Eagles Offense Gets Embarrassed at Home in Back to Back Weeks…

For the second week in a row the Birds suffer an embarrassing loss at home, in a game they absolutely had to have if the team expects to keep their playoffs hope alive.

This recap will be short, just like the majority of Eagles offensive possessions.

The image above of Jake Elliot’s field goal was pretty much the only highlight in the first half.

Philadelphia turned the ball over FIVE TIMES! (3 fumbles, 2 Int’s)

Two weeks in a row, the offense has been handicapped due to the injures of Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Jordan Howard, and Lane Johnson.

Offensive lineman Brandon Brooks also went down early in the matchup.

Carson Wentz worked with what he could, but yet again struggled with getting the ball out on time. Additionally, Wentz miss-fired on a few routine passes.

UPDATE: Zach Ertz scored a TD while I was writing this recap with 23 ticks left in the game…but does it even matter? They also added more insult to injury after Miles Sanders fumbled on the 2 Point attempt…

Leading up to that point, Philly had just 3 points in the teams last 23 possessions…

Defensively, Jim Schwartz’s came to play. For back to weeks the defense played well enough to keep the Eagles in the game, but the offense cannot get their job done.

Despite having 6 sacks in the match, the Eagles could not prevail.

An uncharacteristic outing by Russel Wilson kept the Eagles in the game.

With a 5-6 record, Philadelphia is virtually eliminated from NFC Wild Card Playoff contention.

Luckily enough the NFC East is still in reach given the tough schedule the Dallas Cowboys to finish out their season.

Next week the Eagles travel to Miami in what seems to be a “get right game” against the Dolphins, but I would not be surprised in the slightest if the Eagles drop that game…This team is just not playing with any “juice”

Each week gets more and more frustrating with this team.

Hopefully the squad can figure it out next week.
